Default Oil Leak (D16a6 block w/ D16z6 head)

Ok I just recently re did my gaskets for the oil pan (double layered the gasket on both sides of the oil pan gasket), re gasketed the oil pump and mated it back to the block. Redid the timing again.

The oil sensor must be messed up or something because it flashes 2 seconds when it starts up then goes away.

Also my timing belt has some oil on the outer edge of it like its picking it up from the puddle. Also it is leaking at the bottom of the timing belt cover, I can see it dripping down.

I just redid the oil pump! This engine was just rebuilt 10,xxx miles ago.

Can anyone out there help?

PS The leak is just little drops. It is nothing major but over a long amount of time, it starts to create little puddles on my driveway.

Thanks,
Jon

by double layered the oilpan gasket, does that mean you put two in there? the o.e. pan gasket should be installed with hondabond only where the oil pump meets the block/ small dab only. and the oil pump should not have a gasket, only hondabond... hope that helps

I used permaxtex gasket maker for the oil pump. Same stuff as honda bond. I didn't double layer the oil pan gasket, I just happened to put the gasket maker for the bottom and top layer of the oil pan gasket (I did it all around it)

Still leaking! Someone help me! Thanks for the reply!

sounds to me like you need to start over. new o.e. o.p.g. no permatex! and permatex gasket maker is not the same as hondabond, its garbage in this application. so you need take the oil pump back off, clean that parts store garbage off, and do it right.

dont forget to put dabs at the points i noted, working on hondas over the past 8 years has taught me to do it right the first time. make sure the pan rails are not warped and you dont over torque anything

has nothing to do with the gasket. Happens to be the oil pan itself. one of the rivets or bumps on the oil pan is messed up and making the whole car leak big time!

Thanks,
Jon

Hmm I changed the oil pan and it steal leaks. I've regasketed everything, I am starting to think it is either the camshaft seal or crankshaft seal.
