Valve Adjustment wtf?
I have adjusted the valves on my b18a about 3 times now in the past 6 months. Its fine for the first day but by the end of the 1st or second day its ticking again. Should i use some kind of thread lock on it? When i check them again they are out of spec again.

maybe the rachet is your issue...
its dificult for me to get a valve adjusted correctly with a rachet..

i'm gonna guess your not at tdc when your adjusting them, don't do the old stick a screwdriver down the hole trick to locate the piston just look at the cam, turn it till its off the lobe then adjust them, and yes use a box end instead of a ratchet cause you have to keep your screwdriver in there so your adjustment don't move when your torque down.
You don't want to overtighten them...
I have a snap-on valve adjustment tool and I just tighten them nice and firmly.
Try adjusting them on the tight side, make sure they all have the same "drag". Double check each cylinder after you're done.

true that it should tell you in ur handbook not to overtighten them...
just remember every bolt is not suppossed to be tightened as hard as you can...im sure that my hardest is not gonna be as hard as others...thats why manufacturers use torque specs so u dont end up breaking everything...
i always believe that when it comes to internals there is no other way around it than how the book specifies...everything internal is vital

Yes the motor is cold, yes i look at the lobes to find tdc, i tightened them to factory specs the first 2 times to no avail, i have also used the box end of a wrench with the screwdriver still on it, they seem to be about 001-002 off everytime, i think i will just get new nuts, i also know how to mic them correctly since my dad has been a machinest for the past 30 yrs, Stretched nuts sounds very logical to me. Thanks for the input.
