fire exstinguisher placement ?
i know the perfect place up your *** please for the sake of humanity don't put one unless you're really scared of burning to death in a car fire
I think you better be safe then sorry... who knows what could happen one day and you might need that in an emergency.. my friend has a huge emergency bag in his truck that has everything from fire ext. to flare gun! now thats crazy!
if your car is such a fire hazard/death trap that you feel that a fire extingisher needs to be place inside the cockpit...I don't think you should be driving you car on the street
Pay no attention to these guys. They dont seem to like much stuff for show cars. I had mine mounted on the floor behind my center console. Alot of people put theirs on the passenger pillar. Just be creative with it.

Just put it somewhere where it stays put and where you can reach it from your seat if your car actually does catch fire.

A fire extinguisher is not a show car "accessory." The only cars they deserve to be in are track cars...and RX-7's. If you really think your beast is unsafe to drive around on the street, then I suggest you get that problem taken care of. Put the extinguisher in the trunk or something, it's lame trying to display a fire extinguisher.
I'm gonna mount my floor jack on the A-pillar!

yeah.....if you are on the drag or racing and you really feel you need it, put it on the passenger seat or something, but don't display it all the time. If you just want it for general safety measures, throw it in the trunk some where.
I heard of a guy with a built MR2, and something on his engine caught on fire. It wasn't anything big or anything. Well, he couldn't do anything about it but watch the thing expand and roast his whole car...he didnt' have a fire extinguisher.
I could see myself in that situation, and with what I'm planning on doing to my car, it's not a situation I'd want to be in. Oh, if anyone gets a fire extinguisher, don't use it as a rice accessory.

Definately put it somewhere that it isn't overly visable so that you don't look like you're trying to get in to import tuner.
I have one on the floor behind my seat usually covered up by a bunch of crap and certainly not for show.
As for the people saying you shouldn't have your car on the street if you are worried about it. Go to a salvage auction and see how many bone stock cars (including honda's) burn every day. **** happens. Add a turbo, so high fuel pressure, and rough suspension to vibrate stuff loose, and I don't think a fire extinguisher is all that bad of an idea. I didn't have one until I put the turbo in, but now I have a little one just in case.

I like the guys that mount them on the passenger pillar, FORGETTING that they have a passenger side airbag.... When they get in a front end collision and the airbag deploys, the fire extinguisher suddenly changes from a safety device, to a deadly projectile, knocked loose inside the passenger compartment to beat poor riceboys around the head and shoulders.. hehe...

If you think that you really need a Fire Exstinguisher, then put it in the truck with the spare.

fire extinguisher is just that a fire extinguisher. Dont get one just because you like how it looks, if you get one it should be because you would just like to be prepared in the case of a fire. Dont floss it like ice but keep it somewhere easily accessible. and for all you guys that say it will never happen, ive seen 2 cars that have caught on fire,(1 battery decided to melt and spit acid all over engine bay, saw a cool flame come out hood, 2. friend had some evil enemies who caught his car on fire, he was one of those bling bling icy hot stunnas though so he just pulled his extinguisher from the pillar and put out the fire) but once again let me remind everyone that this is HIS CAR he can do whatever he would like to it.
