Hytech Header is coming.......Predictions???
Hey, John at Hytech called me yesterday and told me that he was shipping the header out. It should probably be here Tuesday or Wednesday, so I just kind of wanted to get some predictions from all of you guys. Here is my setup...
JUN Type 3 cams w/ their valvesprings/retainers/gears/ecu
JUN header/exhaust
Spoon Sports engine block assembly w/thinner headgasket.
So what do you guys think. You think it will make a difference???
John was pretty confident that it would make some good power over the JUN header. So what do you guys think??

That is some good news, I wasn't expecting the headers to come out so early. I can guarentee that they will definately make a big difference over you JUN header.
This is getting me excited that you guys are predicting some gains.
I ordered my header a long time ago. Way back in September of 2001.
What I plan to do is baseline it with the JUN header, and then run the hytech header, and clean it up with my apexi afc. So I'll keep you guys posted.

That kind of sucks, I ordered mine back in August of 2001 and still no word from John. He always gives you the run around. He gets your hopes up saying that the exhaust system will definately be done at such and such time, and when you call up at that time he says that it will definately be done at this such and such time again. He has done this to me for at least three to four times. At least tell the truth and stop making promises like that. I just want to warn all of the possible hytech customers.
I recieved the first production header from John...it took over 6 months, but then again he is pretty busy in the shop...good things come to those that wait. You will have some pretty good gains throughout the rpm band...make sure that if you are going to compare the wo headers you will need to do it on the same day.

please keep us posted on the gains on the hytech header . it sure would be nice to see thru the power band where it makes a huge different , specially with high lift cams !
Hey, guys. It showed up today. It's beautiful. I'll try to get some pictures. I will hopefully take it to the dyno this week.
to the guys that have ordered Hytech headers....what kind of down payment (full payment?) - did John need prior to committing to making a header for you?
Also anybody know if John is taking special orders for his twin loop cat back? I'm willing to pay a little extra to get it before expo.
hang in there ... the hytech header is surely worth the wait !!!
John not only is busy making headers he is also busy prepping for upcoming races and it seems like forever given how busy he gets.
In terms of your motor, I think you need to build up some compression even more, a typical spoon motor is simply a stock type r motor with thinner headgasket ...

I talked to John yesterday. i think his quote was....i have alot of work to do. Lots of orders to fill....but thats not a bad thing. He is also preparing stuff for that Formula and Atlantic series stuff. you have to remember that he's busting hump to keep up with demand as he's building headers for this type of racing....

i can't stress enough how much its worth the wait.
