Default looking to do a all motor build (GSR)

I have been saving for the last 2 years now and have 7000 dollars to spend and i want to get above 210 hp at the wheels.(Hopefully run in low 13's??) I know how to do basic bolts ons but i dont know how to take apart and put together the engine.(I have disassembled and put back a lawnmower engine but this dont even come close to enough experience to be able to do it on my own. Here are a list of what i want.

New pistons and connecting rods (hope to bump compression around 12.0, dont know what kind to go with.
P&P head
Possible valve job
Blox intake manifold
Some type of header and high flow cat
skunk 2 stage 2 cams
AEM cam gears
Stage 2 clutch
ferrea springs, retainers..(Dont know what valves to go wit)
New ECU? Hondata???(I have no idea)
Injectors also?

Do you think i might be able to do all this for under $7000 which includes labor to build motor and a tuning session??

All suggestions welcome (Any brands you prefer or suggest different set up)

Also does anyone know of a good engine shop around the milwaukee area. I will probably get the head done at Borchardts (I dont know if they build motors too)

Thanks to all that reply.

You could probly do a K swap for just about that price and make just about that much power(with boltons and a tune) and be ALOT more reliable.

I agree, a k20 is reliable power.

what you start with a k series, is what you finish with a b series.. haha and you can get 300 WHP N/A with k series.. you wouldn't dream of that with a b18 unless you dumped atlesat 10+ grand

and if your gonna keep ur b18, get a mugen ecu.. ****'s badass!

It sounds like you have a b18C1 already, and that you want to go all motor. Looks like you have a good list there to start with. Getting the engine built will vary on where you get it done alot! You can go to http://www.goldeneaglemfg.com/main.html to get an idea on how much a high end reputible honda builder charges and email them or call them with spacific ?s. The head you can get the head done by a local shop, but most people would HIGHLY recomend that you get the head done by a shop that specilizes in honda heads like, http://www.portflow.com/frame.htm
Talk to people in N/A forum and see what they are running.

Personaly, if I had that much money saved up I would do a JDM k20 TypeR swap. You can get the whole motor/tranny/ecu/ac/PS/ for around $5,500. stock it puts out 220 HP to a 6 speed LSD tranny! Thats with out intake/header or exhust. You simply can not beat that engine swap. Plus it is a STOCK honda engine.

Just my .02

with all that money just go boost. you will never regret it
boost is better espically in a heavy integra. dont expect 200whp to be fast

i love cars, but there is no reason in hell you should dump 7g's in ur car like that. if you want some more hp, build the head.
buy a supertech valvetrain with cams, an oem honda head gasket, waterpump, and timing belt. bring your stock head to a local machine shop, have them mill the crap out of it to get higher compression, and give it a valve job. buy a blox intake manifold, greddy header, and comptech icebox. have the setup tuned on your stock ecu and call it a day. it doesn't take a whole lot to put a head on a motor and set timing.
also y not sell your car and buy an rsx-s?

KraZEtEggIE- I cant afford to buy and RSX-S so thats why i want to build up my motor.

I dont want to go FI because i may be one of the few who would get annoyed by the bov(Wastegate)

Do you think if i sold my b18c1 and bought the k20 type r motor that i would be able to run in the low 13's?

How much hp do you think i would get if i just did the head work(Cams, P&P,etc.) instead of also having to buy pistons also. I think i could do the work my self if it was just the head so that would save me money. And would it be safe to just do the head work not that it would possibly break the connecting rods or something else.

sorry for all the questions but i just want to do this the smart way.

so how much hp do you think i could get by just doing head work(P&P, valvetrain, tune) and skipping the pistons?

I think a k20 type r is out of my budget because i would have to get a lot of other things to make the swap work(Trust me I WANT ONE, but their is so much more to it which would cost more than what i have.)

7000 in the bank.... sell the car for 3500-4000.....that alone could buy an '02 rsx-s, or save a bit more any you could get a real nice one. i'm buying mine at auction and they are selling for around 8000.

7000 + the 3500 you sell your gsr sawp for = 10500 to spend on a k sawp that is plenty to get it installed.

Exactly! Doing head work with stock internals is going to give you notacible power, but your looking at $1000+ cams, springs, retainers, valves, guides to gain like 15 to 20 hp.

If you do new pistions and what not you may get another 10+hp. so you'll be close if not over your 200hp range.

As far as if you stock connecting rods and crank are concerned, they have been rated to handle more then 400whp with no problems! So you should be fine.

If I had the money I would go ahead and upgrade the
rods $400+
get the crank micro polished/knife edged $165
get the block sleeved $800+
new rod/ main & thrust bearings $100+
Step Decking $40+
higher comp pistons $400+
3angle port polish $1000+ with runners
bronze runners $45+
new springs/ retainers $300+
new valves $$200
cams of your choice (toda-spoon-crower-buddy club-skunk2) $400+
cam gears and what not $150+
new intake mani #200+
new TB $150+
new oil pump/ water pump $150+
hondata or aem ems $1,100+
bla bla bla bla!
all balanced and blue printed of couse! $165 for balance +blue printing assy

tuning $150 an hour

+ a good header, intake, exhust $900+ depending on what you want

All that power now you need LSD $800+

you might want to upgrade you fuel pump/fuel rail and injectors, but stock can handle this.

after the build depending in what you choose part wise you should easily make 220 whp for around $5265 before tuning, up grading fuel crap and shipping and tax.

Or around $8,000 to $10,000 for a K20 with LSD N/A in STOCK form making 220HP!

Down side is smogging it. People are still working on it.

So build the B18C1

Thats what I am going to do!
