Default turbo install finally complete (pics & dyno graph) updated!

well after a few months of waiting i finally got around to getting my turbo kit installed. it took about 5 days and nearly 100 hours but it is fee-neat-o.

i took my hatch to Arthur and Copey at Trackmasters in Huntsville AL. these guys are pros in every since of the word! i didn't want to take any risks because i was planning to use this as my daily driver, so i wanted it dyno-tuned upon installation. (experience has taught me this is the right thing to do) (yes i have destroyed a few engines in my day!) (only a few... or so)

as many of you know things don't always fit correctly in our little engine bays, so mucho fabrication was in order. not capable in most garages!

i only wanted to buy parts one time, instead of constantly upgrading. so i bought the parts i needed for my "ultimate goal" instead of my immediate needs.

my list of parts as i can remember them:
turbo- t3/t04e 57 trim
manifold- blox
wastegate- tial 38mm 7.8 psi or 1/2 bar
bov- tial
intercooler pipping- 2.5 inch custom by trackmasters
intercooler- precision
down pipe- 2.5 inch custom by trackmasters
wastegate elbow- custom by trackmasters
injectors- rc 750's
engine mgmt- hondata
throttle body- 68mm str
intake manifold- victor x
vacuum manifold- golden eagle
fuel rail- aem
fuel pressure regulator- aeromotive
fuel pump- walboro 255
lines and fittings- stainless (thanks Arthur)
radiator- fluidyne
traction bar/crossmember- trackmasters (a mo-fuggin work of art)
clutch- competition clutch 6 puck sprung
flywheel- competition clutch 8.5 lbs
also-
greddy profec b spec II
greddy turbo timer
plx 300 m afr
gauges- autometer boost and pyrometer

i feel badly that such a clean install was put into such a dirty car!
these pics cant do the justice this install deserves.

the way it was

test fitting the intercooler and brackets

Art welding my cross member

more of Art welding

to me this just looks cool Art has skills

test fitting the blox manifold

again

the custom radius arm for my cross member

test fitting the radius arm

again

my downpipe "hot sex"

test fitting the traction bar "unfinished"

my custom traction bar/cross member jim who? full race what?

this thing is a total beast! it makes every other traction bar i have ever owned seem fragile and weak. if you absolutely, positively must make ***-loads of power and put it to the "ground", accept no substitutes.

gotta keep things cool

Copey making my fittings for the traction bar.
if you find yourself needing to squeeze a twin turbo v6 into a crx, this guy will make your hardware and make it nearly indestructible

i hear he will be selling custom engine mounts very soon. i hope i will be a test car!

here is how my valve cover looked when we removed it. pretty damn clean

Jackie doing my valves, this guy has been doing this a very very long time

there is a rumor going around about Jackie's old b16 hatch, they say it could rev past 11,000 rpm

he used to do his own valves on the side of the road before every race!

me modifing my front bumper

think of it as weight reduction!

me after changing shifter bushings. my car needs a bath

my go fast controller

i hear air fuel ratios are important, so i thought i would keep it in view

my dirty little valve cover, and my victor x

starting to come together

my wastegate and custom elbow "thanks Arthur"

me on the dyno

finally what i think you have all been waiting for...

why yes that does say 340 and 224!!!

everyone just reminded me...
this was done at a little over 10 psi

i did over 220 on low boost at a little over 6 psi

we are planning on going with a 2.0 liter block in a few weeks and shooting for over 500 whp. more pics and dyno tuning to come.
i will keep you posted

if anyone is considering doing this kind of set up, i cant stress to you enough
YOU NEED A DYNO AND A GOOD TUNER!!!
http://www.etrackmasters.com or 256-539-0398

i drove my car almost 6 hours away to have this work done. that's how important it is to me.i have known these guys for many years, and i wouldn't trust this kind of job to anybody else.

if you need tuning or fabrication, call them

if you need help getting your car to Huntsville Arthur can help you with that too
give him a call 256-539-0398

i would also like to personally thank Ken at Phoenix Turbo for selling me this beast of a turbo.
i have called him up many times to ask him questions both related and unrelated to my turbo and he has provided me with a ton of information.
if any of you want to go "big power" and you are tired of all the misinformation, you need to give Ken a call. 877-238-8726

i honestly cant say enough about Trackmasters, Arthur, Copey, Jackie, and Ken from Phoenix Turbo.
in my opinion these guys are the very best in the business.

thanks again guys, i look forward to 500 ponies

That's ******* tight. 340 hp at only 10 psi? I've seen guys boost way more for those types of numbers.

Can't wait to boost my B20

Yeah, those numbers are REALLY good for a stock block B16A1.

If you started out with 160whp thats about 18hp per lb of boost!
