alright i got a CEL of 67 and im not running a gutted catalytic conv. or anything like that. can someone tell me what the prob is and how to fix???
also, ive noticed that when im at wide open throttle smoke comes out of my exhaust, if this has anything to do with the CEL. well help would be greatly appreciated, TIA all H-T members.

I got a #67 Wed. and Thr. of this week with a carsounds cat...

I am not sure why or the fix.

This makes me kinda worried about getting my 2.5" Carsound..

 

Yeah i get the same code every few hundred miles. Is my cat defective or something? I thought that if it was, then i would throw a code immediately after starting my engine...Anyways i fix this by resetting the ecu. Annoying but its the only alternative right now besides getting an obd 1 ecu.

 

It wont throw the code immediately after starting because it needs some time to
compare readings and make an assessment.

 

is the CEL on because of the rear o2 sensor?

 

yeah I got the same code. It turned out to be the secondary O2 sensor (yeah the one in the cat). The wires were somehow sliced alittle causing the light to be triggered. I had to get a new one from the dealership (not under warrenty ) it costs $225.00
