::::::Asphalt/Road debris on wheels (how to clean em off?)::::::
when you drive on a newly paved road or drive by construction and you get home, you see pieces of asphalt and black stuff stuck on ur wheels...they leave a sticky/oily/greasy/ somewhat gooey* residue on parts of the wheels. when they dry overtime and get all hard. if u try and wipe it off, you will most likely end up scratching the paint or ir leave a black stain. just wondering what i can use to clean these off. im at work, bored...trying to see what others think.
i will prolly just end up using Simple Green. need other options, oh ya...paint safe too

Thanks.

Yeah I was gonna say SG or Greased Lightning, I think the GL is stronger but you might want to make sure its paint safe.

Yeah actually, BMW has a really good one, of course its overpriced and you have to buy it at a beamer dealer but 15 bucks is prob worth protecting a $2000 dollar investment.

I worked at a detail shop for a year. Its tar from the road, gets on the body too. Decent wheel cleaner can get it but turtel wax makes a bug and tar remover, try that with a soft brush that won't scratch the wheels. as for the car a very soft sponge. I don't know how well the store brands are but the industrial stuff we had kicked a$$ and didn't hurt the body
