Default I DROPPED IN A JDM B16A2 MY VTEC IS LAGGING PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok,i put in a jdm b16 i used my original wiring harness from my 93 ex coupe non v tec.when i had the ecu that came with the motor it kicked my vtec in at 5000 rpms, and it dragged like ****.i know have a gsr ecu w/ a p28 chip, it now kicks in at 6000 rpms and doesnt drag as bad but its still not doing right, also it kicking out a little smoke when the v tec kicks in.ive read about additional sub harnesses for my vtec but i dont have one, could that be the prob?thanks

To correct your title, there was never a JDM B16a2. Just B16a. USDm had the a2 & a3.
