Default Lagging Tachometer

Lagging Tachometer, does anyone have this problem after doing an engine swap. I took out a D16 that was in my 93 EG CX hatch and replaced it with a b20/vtec swap. When i full throttle the gas the tach lags. I was curious to know if this has to do with a part such as the "Engine Speed Output" located in the distributor or the Engine speed Output Located in the Gauge Assembly. Any info is appreciated thanks much.

Usually when the tach acts up its caused by the dist. Could be anything thats wrong too. But also OEM tach's are never accurate so taking a while could be due to old age in the cluster. If you know the motor is at 5000 and the tach still reads 1000 then yea you know somethings wrong and check the dist. Usually a sign of dist. is bouncy needle.

Also that time in your sig was slicks or street tires?

hey man, good times...anywho i have a 95 cx with SI cluster and my tach seemed fine...but wasn't. turns out that somehow my tach would read 7300 as my redline, but after hooking up a tach directly off the dizzy, i was in fact redlining at 8100. my advice? mount a tach directly in front of the stock tach and call it a day.
