OK, I have read the posts over the last couple years about which is better, and LS tranny or a shorter geared tranny for boost. Obviously the shorter gearing will net a greater multiplier but....I have a turbo B16 at about 300 whp. I have an S1 in it now, but after a rebuild once, it is stating to not want to go into 3rd under load. Every S1/J1 I find seems to be on the brink of stating to fail. I would not mind the slightly wider gears of an LS since i finally have a little bit of torque. OK, now to my actual question, how much slower would my car actually be going from an S1 to an LS tranny. Assuming I am in the 12.5 sec 1/4 range...
