eg tail light leak

Default eg tail light leak

I got a leak into my hatch.. i'm assuming its from the tail lights cause i've heard of that being a problem.. anyone know what i can use for new gaskets?

Well, it'll be a bitch, but i'd take my taillights out, cut some foam stuff to match the old ones (or get replacements) but i'd definitely look for rust holes. If there arent any extra holes see if you can get some plugs/grommets, so you can tighten up the holes where the wiring goes through.

I took apart the whole back of an EG a month ago, and there was rust all the way through the rear floor, looks like the hatch leaked, because there was just a hole along the entire line of the hatch. Check taillights AND the hatch, you may not have a good seal, esp with 10 year old rubber.

sounds good.... i'm not too worried because theres no rust back there... it only happens once and a while that i get water back there.. only if we get a REALLY good storm...
