well I was on my way to go pick up my future 99' white integra gsr coupe and I was feeling good but when I got to the owners house I found out it had a salvaged title and the deal was off! It ruined my day and the worst part is, I don't have a car and am desperatley looking for a white gsr!

 

well did you ask why it was salvage?
maybe if it was theft low ball him

depending on how it was salvaged, you can end up getting a deal.
i bought a salvage ls 3 years ago. I still have it, and its still runs great. never had any major problems with it.
bought it with 60k, now has 140k. still runs smooth.
the only thing i found wrong with it, was the cv boot being ripped and i didnt know it.

frame still straight, no signs of re-welding.
vin number still on all major body panels, hood, fenders, door panels, door jams and truck trunk.
engine vin matches car vin
honda stamped on all windows

theres nothing wrong with a salvaged title find out why then make your decision if the car is in good shape go for it , now if its been in a accident then thats a different story.

I believe that's an automatic ban for bringing up past ban's. Somebody get the mod please?

As for the salvage, well...you should ask over the phone. 1st question out your mouth should be "Ever been in a accident, Is it salvaged?" If it's salvaged, why? A salvage from theft is not nearly as bad as a salvage from an accident. You need to read up on buying car, cause it seems like you didnt ask the right questions and we're turned off by the notion that it was salvage, when that could mean anything.

hehe, i'm not turned off by the notion that it was a salvage; i'm more turned off by the percent of women that are fat, and even more by the sight of those that are.

 

in some cases a salvage from a theft can be even worse than an accident, youd be suprised why some cars get salvaged..mine was hit on the driver side door/quater panel. Now its salvaged, but oh well.

ok here was the deal with the salvage, the guy said it was reported stolen but he said that he was friends with the owner at that time and the only thing that happened was the window was smashed out. But when I showed up to get the car he told me that the gauge cluster wentr bad and that they put a new one in which i thought the car had only 67,000 miles on it and then I looked at the title and it said they bought the car with 83,000 miles on it like five months ago so there is no telling how many original miles are on it. that's the deal with what happened and i was dealing with the saon at fist who didn't tell me about the gauges getting changed(the mileage) even after i asked him if those were the original miles on it and he never told me it was salvaged. They were going to sell me the car for $8700.00 but doesn't a salvaged title make the insurance even higher and I use to have a carfax account but the limit ran up so if anyone has one that they can chaeck the vin for me I will give you it if you e-mail me at jsrdelsol@yahoo.com

 

certainly don't pay $8700 when they're skirting major issues like that, and not with a branded title like that. try to talk them down to like $7k. then whatever issues arise you will be able to take care of them for the same money. you know if they're lying like that to you that the week you take delivery of it you're going to find problems with it that never should have been problems, like it's impossible to get the alignment right b/c the frame was bent, or the engine burns oil b/c of miles + beating on it, or something like that.

 

find out why it was salvaged - its not always a badd thing.
