Default Valve cover problem

Well, I decided to strip and repaint my valve cover being that it looked like sh*t after 118k. I pulled it off and sandblasted it. However, I forgot about the baffling on the underside of the valve cover and now Im paraniod that I missed some sand under it when cleaning it. Im thinking I should probably buy a new valve cover now, but I need to be able to drive around until I can get one. What purpose does the baffling serve under the valve cover? Is it just to let the oil recirculate a little better? Would I be okay to drive for a couple days if I drilled out the rivets and pulled the baffle off?

Thanks

Hey man, I wouldn't try and rig anything on an integra. You should just buy you a new valve cover and just take a kick in the side. Just my opinion. I don't know much though. .. ..

HUM, get a used cover at a junk yard for cheap and soak it in a parts cleaner tank. Or try to go to a tranny shop and ask them if they could wash it in the machine...

I think Im going to take it to the carwash and force water through it on the high pressure wash MANY times. Then Im going to put the car back together and run it for a few minutes just to circulate the oil, then change the oil. I also thought about drilling out the rivets, cleaning where I can't reach, then JB welding the sh*t back together. However, that sounds really crude. I would just break down and buy a new valve cover but its the weekend and it will take a few days for it to get here. Also, I called all the local junkyards and not a one of them has a bseries vtec valve cover.
