Post your 96-98 civic aftermarket radio
Looking at getting a 97 hatch, and the radio has the weird shape to it, Id like to see some aftermarket radios in the spot and what you guys do so that it looks good. Do i need a bracket of some sort?
Thanks

I made the whole middle thing out of carbon fiber and put the CD player and some guages in there, I moved the climate controls down below, behind the cupholder lid.
Taking a look at this picture, you can see where the little storage area is, it doesnt look clean without the OEM Radio, its seems as though those holes are visible.
any ideas?

One thing that i can't get enough of is having a deck + a parametric equalizer (another deck basically). It looks so ******* tight....
But in EGs, there is no extra room for a second deck like in EKs (pocket area)...
arghhh........

My cousin's setup in his recently stolen Civic:

Before my system got stolen, I had a Pioneer Premier KEH-P690 cassette deck in the top DIN slot, and a Pioneer CDS-P5000 add-on CD player in the optional audio console.

Yea man... good idea, but that looks like ****. Did you try and rewrap the dash too? I can see the parts where its not smooth.

I went through my 16yo ricer stage as soon as I got the car, and believe me this is a lot better than it was. I would post pics but I am too embarrased, Ill just say it had a lot of spray paint, blue tweed, and more spray paint. I recovered the entire dash and door panels in black vinyl, and it didnt turn out that bad, imo. But that is remembering what it looked like before. The seats are just some $50 seat covers over the stock ones, until I have money for real seats. The center dash actually isnt that bad, a lot of people ask me where I got it (and no not just little kids either).
here is an idea, you can try to picture it:
use a block plate for the radio for the 96-98 Civic Centre Consule
and on the bottom...
use a 97-00 Bottom half which can provide a position for the Deck or.
if thats too much...
you can juss use the Lower din/cup holder trick

Here is my Pioneer, I just left the little pocket alone. Does anyone else have the issue of the kit not sitting flush with the console? My stereo kit doesnt go all the way in? Yes I got rid of the tape deck on the bottom lol.

Not exactly sure, it's an mp3 deck though. I'll ask him. I'm guessing it's a model from a couple of years ago. I think it's the KDC-x959. Look it up on epinions.com

Order a pocket from a 98 Civic CX hatchback, those didn't have radios standard, so the pocket is slightly different to work with the radio block off plate. instead of the holes on the left, the plastic wraps around into the console, looks alot cleaner.
heres the P/N i ordered
