Questions concerning swap into a 1995 Accord
Hello fellow Accord lovers,
I have a 1995 Accord EX, the car is stripped of it's OEM guts. The tranny was automatic & now I'm swapping a JDM H22A with 5 spd LSD tranny out of a 95 Prelude. Everything so far has been going great: I swapped the shifter, shifter cables, clutch & brake pedals.
The big problem so far is dropping the engine in the car.
Here's where I'm stuck:
I was told to use a Prelude 94-95 engine mount on the timing belt side. It bolts into the car after slightly prying the mount location on the accord. The engine sits straight up & the straps & pulleys have a decent clearance from the body. I assume this side is fine.
Next I was told the front engine mount from the Accord would fit bolt on, and it is perfectly aligned so I assume it's the good one.
Problem #1: I was told to use the mount & bracket from an 1994-95 accord f22a manual tranny for the passenger side. This mount makes the engine sit crooked in the engine bay, and the mount's hole is about an inch or two past the hole. This mount was the first one installed and was pushing the pulleys on the timing belt side onto the body of the car.
Problem #2: I was told to use the manual tranny Accord mount & bracket (same years as above) for the rear tranny/engine mount. We managed to bolt this in place, but the engine was way too slanted towards the firewall.
I can only leave my car 2 or 3 more days at my friend's garage, so all I need is to know which mount/bracket combinations work best? I've done many searches only to be either badly informed or confused.
All the advice you guys can give me will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Oh yeah I can post pics if it can help.
