How many ppl roll on 195/50/16 tyres? Do you like?
I'm worried that a 205/45/16 doesn't have enough side wall for: (1) a smooth ride on pot-holed roads, & (2) expensive (for me) rims.
Original tyres were 195/55/15.

Well... for one thing, 195/50-16 is a real oddball size. There aren't many decent tires that come in that size.
Also, if you're most concerned about ride comfort and the cost of rims, then you're better off sticking with 15" rims. The difference in sidewall height between 205/45-16 and 195/50-16 is minimal (where "minimal" = 0.2 inch), whereas the difference in sidewall height between your stock 195/55-15 and 205/45-16 is about three times as much. What is making your sidewalls shorter is primarily the larger wheels, rather than which 16" size you choose.

OK, I'm leaning more towards 15's, but before I make a final decision, maybe I could get some opinions of others running 205/45/16 on pothole-ridden roads?...
