What would a 2.25' exhaust with resonator and testpipe sound like ?
How would the sound be with a testpipe if I had a 2.25' exhaust with a resonator and a straight through muffler ? Would the sound still be nice and deep or would it get nasty and ricer ?
So even with the resonator with a test pipe its still going to be sounding bad and really loud?
I have a cheap 4-2-1 header, resonated test pipe, resonator in the b-pipe, a magnaflow straight-thru muffler and a resonated tip. The resonators eliminate the raspiness at all rpms, but the exhaust is still alittle too loud for me. But the exhaust is free flowing and it opened up my B18a a bit in the upper rpms.
I have had several people follow me to let me know if my exhaust is obnoxious, and they say it sounds really good. But when I go under a bridge and the sound is reflected, it sounds too loud to me. Oh well, it doesn't really start to get loud until you go over 4k anyway, very quiet at idle, and the tone is nice. I might try a twin loop muffler in the future.

The exhaust note would also depend on the length of the resonator, number of resonators, and the muffler.
On my custom exhaust, I also have 2.25 inch piping with a straight-through Magnaflow muffler. But at first, I did not have a resonator included in the system, and obviously, the exhaust was loud and obnoxious. This summer, however, I purchased an 18 inch resonator, and the sound level has gone down, and the note is deeper and much more pleasant.
