Default Don't want to sound ignorant, but..... H22 question

First off yes I have searched, I have been reading up on this type of information but I want a fresh idea of what I am looking for.

In the next year or two I want to do the oh so common H22 swap. My goal is to reach 200 whp without any type of porting or machine customization. I would like to piece together a simple internal setup such as...

Skunk2 intake manifold
Skunk2 stage 2 cams
cam gears
header
throttle body
full vaulvetrain upgrade
a proper engine management system
2.25" catback exhaust system

I don't know how much power this type of setup would put down but I am open suggestions. Feel free to give your H22 setups. I want to get down an idea of what I am looking to purchase before I get my motor. So in closing, I do not have much knowledge on the subject of performance but any helpful responses would be helpful. Thanks

sounds like a decent start, not sure if you'll see 200 @ the wheels but it would be pretty close.

people have been able to get right up to 200whp with cams, a good header and a good tune. I dont think you'll be needing the skunk2 manifold, cam gears, throttle body or valvetrain upgrade to accomplish the goal. If you do plan to seperate the head from the block then get some type s pistons in there for 11:1 c/r.

and 60mm pipping is good for n/a (2.34")

This is good info, I just want to stay on a low buget, make some good power but not cheap out on parts.

Well I don't want to stop at 200. When I do the swap I want to add all the mods I need to handle 200whp up front. I don't want to spend to much money......yet. it all depends on my cash flow.

getting a good engine management system and tune will be your key. i've seen some freak numbers with just a header and intake and a good tune.
cams and cam gears are also a good option.
it took me forever to get to 200 with no engine management. that's next.

I did it with a prospeed header, 2.5 inch exhaust, Obx stage 1 cams (skunk2 stage 1 specs)((dont buy they will ruin your rocker arms)), skunk2 cam gears, ebay intake w/ k&n filter, fidanza flywheel,skunk2 intake mani. On crappy vafc tuneI baselined at 201 after tuning made 209whp. I just got some crower stage 2 cams with crower valvetrain and milled the head .020 to bump me too 11:1 compression. Im also gonna dyno using chrome so i will let you guys know how much the new setup makes. It feel really nice just driving around on the street tune.

Are you saying not to buy the OBX or the skunk2 cams? Cuz' I'm planning on running skunk2's in my H22 setup, but won't if they aren't any good.

for somecams, the profile is such that you must "clearance" the rocker arms. some shaving of the pad is necessary. consult your cam manufacturer and/or local smart engine builder.

vtec swap....do you realize all H22's came with vtec...its not something seperate from teh engine, and frankly its not all that awesome either.

bigger rotors have very little to do with the weight of the car....better pads, SS brake lines and a fluid flush os all your really need...oh, and the H22 doesnt weigh that much more than an F22...especially if your also doing the auto-> manual conversion

oh i see, well wouldnt cross drilled roters help reduce the gass build up between the pads and roters and then in turn help you stop quicker?
