Default You think these numbers seem way low for my setup?

ok so i just got my car tuned, and although the dizzy was on its way out causing some missing at high rpms we still got some numbers on it.

I thought the numbers were ok given its a low compression engine but as i do more and more reading i think something might be wrong with the engine. I havent had a chance to leakdown and compression test it yet becuase its in MD and im in NY but i plan to do it this weekend.

So do you think these numbers are low for a b17a1 (built) @ 8.5:1CR on 9psi?

200whp/146ft/lbs on dynojet

what do you think?

here it is- this isnt the 200whp run but its the only graph they gave me, i can always get them back cause they keep them on record but i just got this done this saturday and havent contacted them.

Anyway here it is, you can see it starts fine and then the ignition starts missing (which has since been fixed. not dynod tho)

the ignition missing probably killed your power up top.

my all motor 1.8 lsvtec makes 198whp and 151 tq

my friends stock d15b with some home made turbo made 195whp and 165 tq at 10 pounds

bump for insight

running a drag turbo kit on a built b17a1 engine, arias pistons 8.5:1 cr, crowler rods, PYR rcing head, ti retainers, the works.

2.5" downpipe to 2" reducer (damn you DRAG) then to 2.5"-3" cat to full 3" kteller SS exhaust

stage 2 clutch

civic si fpr, 450cc dsm's, walbro 255 high output

that help?

yeah the dizzy was fucked up for sure...

i am runing hondata s200b tuning by steve sakai, the tune was tone on shitty sparks and the dizzy issue but so many strngs had to be pulled to get it together that we had to work with what we had.

We did 8 pulls and the dizzy was missing on 7 of them noticeably (you can hear it miss).

I replaced the dizzy and it doesnt miss at all now. it pulls pretty damn hard, but for some reason after running it for like 30 min with the new dizzy i noticed i was losing boost- by the guage, although i didint feel a drop in the power, im wondering if its just a gauge issue.

Me and my buddy were in it after the dizzy was put it- it went fast enough to scare both of use which is a good thing, we did dizzy+ngk spraks and then it ran much better i think...

still gonna try a compression/leakdown and depending on the results another dyno pull...

here is a video of the car right after they got it on the dyno, at least you can hear it run...

the vidoe sucks cause i ran out at like 40seconds and right after that he rapped it out and it was sensory overload you know..

anyway for what its worth:

^1st run on dynojet, basemap

p.s. - turn up your bass

i had a friend with a gt28rs that pushed like 24psi maybe more to put down 380hp. he was running b16 with 83 or 84 pistons 8.4:1 cr. for sure your ignitor was going out and your tuner was battling that while trying to tune. i'd say take it back a tune it again. turn up the boost if you map can support it. and let him get the ignition maps right. do i compression test first though just to make sure. you should have some nice numbers them. good luck

I bet that 2'' reducer is killing your power as well.

yeah its pretty retarded drag puts it on there so the downpipe can fit the stock catalytic converter

pretty stupid cause you need to cut the whole flange off to remove it.

the graph isnt gonna look as smooth when youre only making 200 whp...

its gonna have peaks and valleys. when you put it on a larger chart, itll smooth out some. but getting it tuned with a distributor going south? i would have waited until after i replaced it.

yeah well we didint *know* it was going south until we got on the dyno and saw the dyno was losing pickup for sprak (you know how they run the tach for the dyno..)

anyway it was losing spark, and thats when we realized something was wrong. But we had already got it on the dyno and my tuner came all the way from VA to tune for me so we had to make due you know...

i wasnt gonna tell everyone to go home after the first pull and leave me car on a basemap- at least it has a partial tune and i can drive it like a regular car now
