Default DPFI to MPFI already searched

OK I have all of the parts to do the DPFI to MPFI conversion

I have an SI harness motor ecu tranny etc..
I have a DX DPFI car.

I have read all the posts on the subject and it's said the you can't plug and play because the pin outs at the connector right fender are different. They say just mod your existing harness.

I'm curious as to why you can't change the pin outs at these connectors and the computer and still use the dx harness in the car.

My reason for asking is i was hoping to have 2 harness one to run my DPFI motor and one to run my MPFI motor.

If i could just change the pins at the connector in the car this would faciliate engine change back and forth.

thanks for any info please do not treat this as a noob question as i have done a lot of reading thru the threads previously posted.

Why do you want to run one engine with dpfi and one with mpfi? they both will run mpfi if you didnt already know, and it would be A LOT easier to just run the 4 extra wires for the swap then figuring out how to get the si harness to work in your dx. I guess I just dont understand why you would want to convert back and forth from mpfi to dpfi.

the harness' are different....i believe that one of the plugs physically wont fit....yes u can mod the si harness to fit the dx chassis harness but that would almost require rewiring ur entire harness...why dont u just use ur dx harness and mod it to run mpfi...
if u wanna keep ur other car dpfi...just buy another dx harness and mod that...

Ok Maybe we need a little more explanation. The car is a road course car. Under current rules i can switch classes up and down by running MPFI and DPFI motors.
Hence this is what i want to do! I know it's possible i was looking for information on how to do it ie pin locations.
