my 93 ls makes a weird knocking sound when i turn the steering wheel left. any ideas to what it is? thanks

 

95% it's your left (driver's side) axle going out. You can either get a remanufactured axle from your local auto parts store, a new one from the dealer (not worth it), or service the CV boot yourself.

Ahh jeez, I don't really remember, it's been a while. I used to get replacement axles from Pep Boys (after giving them the core) for (I think) ~$75 each.

They are basically rebuilt axles for OEM use. The wear items (boot, grease, bearings) were replaced. It's basically new. If you want something stronger, look into http://www.driveshaftshop.com
