need help with parasitic load test
Hey guys, ive been away form my car for a few months and a little out of the game. that being said, i had my battery charged for a few days before i came home. even so, the car will drive fine, but once i park it for the night, it will hardly start in the morning, or even after a spirited drive to a friends.
i suppose my options are...
A.) my battery isn't holding a charge (its only a year old, sealed, 860 cca)
or
B.)it's getting drained from something not turning off. How do i tell if it's getting drained, and how do i tell where its coming from? Looks like the bike will be getting some more attention until the rain hits, but ANY help is appreciated. thanks.

The idea of a parasitic draw test it to put the meter in between the battery and what might be drawing the current, and reading the amperage drawn. Start with the positive terminal of the battery, to see if anything is being drawn. If it's more than 100mA or so, start isolating parts of the wiring. Using a (proper) wiring diagram, remove fuses from each system and put the meter in line with the wiring to read the current. Going through each subsystem and narrowing your search will lead you to the problem.
