Well my car is in storage for the past perhaps 3-4 months since I last drove it.
I stared my car yesterday night and the altenator pulley didn't spin. So my guess i that it's stuck.


My garage is underground and does hold some moisture so I could see how it could get seized.... but my question is HOW to get it unseized so that i don't have to replace it... hehe

So far all i did was pour a tea spoon full of MTF on the pulley & let it sit over night, hoping it might loosen up.

Just replace it with a junkyard one or a new one. That's easier than spending time (= money) and still not being sure whats wrong with it. Even if you do get it to spin the output might have been affected, especially if it spins too slowly. Sometimes it's better to pay with money.

 

i wouild have to agree with dognuts
but if u want take off alternator
take it apart
blow off everything/spin with impact a bit, see if it free's it up

sometimes massive rust and stuff builds up sometimes it breaks up sometimes its trash
