the Si rack has a variable rate. 18-20.4:1
the DX is straight. 18.6:1
the pinions are different as well, not only to match the ratio, but the length of the pinion is a little different, which makes the steering rack housing different as well. so theyre not interchangeable.
(i got the ratio's from hondas online UK manual, it may be different than US model, ill have to check at home, but im pretty sure its the same)

alright, i just checked my 88 CRX helms manual, and oddly it doesnt show a variable rate in the specs, just the 18.6 DX ratio. but my 91 helms manual shows both the 18.6 and 19.8(18-20.4) variable ratios.
which makes me think that maybe the variable ratio was an upgrade in the later model years.
however, i checked the part numbers for an 88 and they show two different part numbers, same as 90.
so either the helms was a misprint, or the difference is backdated in the parts number... hmmm....
