how did it blow up? how's the connector? good or melted?

to clean the glass pieces out, you need to take the headlight out and use a pen vacuum to suck them out. or use a long pen twiser to get them out.

I think I read a post from awhile ago, If your light bulb blows up in the housing the light output will not be the same even if you cleaned the residues out.

am I right? anyone second that?

I had a PIAA blow up... not sure why... I use cheap bulbs now since even the high dollar ones don't last. I used a long swap much like a q-tip that had a foam tip instead of cotton. I used a shop vac to get out broken glass. I wouldn't suggest any liquid cleaners... not unless it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. Go with the swap... works good.

Latex, heh. Great idea though! I installed mine with paper towel between my hands and the bulb and have had good luck with PIAA Superwhites.... over 2 years with no failures.

I wore latex gloves and cleaned the bulbs with rubbing alcohol immediatly before installation. They worked for 8 months before the driver side bulb exploded. definatly not b/c of anything having to do with installation.
