My first 1/4 Mile run! What should I expect?
I ran my very first 1/4 mile yeseterday:
15.2 @ 92.5 MPH
I had really bad wheel hop at the start. I must have sat there for 1 sec, hopping. I was expecting low 14s.
I didn't get a chance to run again, as the track closed early. See my setup in my sig.
I had Full throttle launch control set at 3700 rpm. Shifted at 8200 RPM.
What should I eventually expect when I get better at launching?
EDIT: I've got my slip, can anyone explain what it all means?

Is it just me or is a 3700rpm launch kind of low? I think if you get that up a little it will take care of some of the wheel hop. Post this in the drag racing forum and they should be able to help you. 60ft time would help too.
I ran in Firebird in Boise. I don't remember my 60ft. My slip is at home. My R/T was .331. Is that included in the 15.2 sec? So my real time would be 14.9 if I reacted instantly?

no, R/T has nothing to do with it. we want to know your 60 foot time... it'll be on your timeslip, probably about 2.4 or 2.5 seconds. that'll give us a better indicator of how much you can shave off by improving your launch.

You paid $600 bucks for 1.7 psi of boost from an electric fan?. psi means jack ****, cfm is what makes the diffrence. The cfm is prolly super low.

That electric super charger has enough CFM flow to support a 5.0 v8. I can't remember, but it's like 1400 CFM flow @ 1.7 PSI, and it take 1500w of power to drive(2 hp). Enough to hold me to 10K when I get my cams.
It also says "Soon", which means I have't bought it yet. I don't have 600 bucks in fun money.

consider yourself lucky. You just saved 600 bucks. thats 600 you could put into a homemade turbo kit that actually gets you some hp.
BTW, my homemade turbo zc smoked b16's
14.0 @ 100 + lots of tire spin

My goal is an All-Motor B16 into the low 13s/high 12s. Once I reach that goal, I'll then begin to turbo charge. I'm doing all this so I can learn how to do things, not to have a 'faster' car. I'm 'allowing' my self to cheat a bit and get an electric surper charger to reach this goal.

well ur at 15.2 now, so get ready to spend some cash flow. 2.0 and some serious cams, head work ect. and a very good tuning system.
Your gonna have to put down around 200 WHP uncorrected.... yes ACTUAL WHP.

B16 will never make it? I have to go B18 and resleeving? You can get near 200 WHP from a 1.6, just have to rev the **** out of it with hot cams and alot of head work. I heard you could get almost 300 WHP from a 2.0 All Motor. What his face from TheOldOne.com did it.
Also that 15.2 is my first run. I plan on getting better at racing, by Praying to God... j/k. I'll be at the race track evey opertunity!

a 12 second b16 hatch is not impossible....but it takes a lot more than a powerful motor...u need to learn how to properly launch and drive that car...with ur set-up u should be right around low 14....now i dont know what this bs is about ur electric supercharger....these things maybe give u a 2 hp increase on a STOCK motor...if u know anything about cars u will know that different cars have different demands...especially with a high output motor, that fan will probably end up choking it at high rpms...how high does a 5.0 mustang rev? 6k tops. u are talking about reving all the way up to 10k rpm..now if u think that a 5.0 at 6k flows the same amount of air as a 1.6 at 10k ur sadly mistaken....save ur money buy urself a good clutch and work from there...so far u have a pretty good set-up...u just need to work on getting the power to the ground...spend the 600 bux on a quality header..u will be much more satisfied...if u buy that fan u will probably end up throwing it against the wall after it adds like .4 seconds to ur E.T.

look at the 60ft. Last time at the track with stock ls motor, ys1(gsr) ls 5th, 8# flywheel, header + exhaust. everything else stock even the air box.

1/8 9.489
mph 74.38
1/4 14.759

that is in a full interior, A/C, in a 89 hatch

Thanks for the info. I'll probably forget about the stupid e-Ram, unless anyone has anything good to say about them. Any suggestions how I can practice my launchs? At the track I only get to run onces ever 1.5 hrs, making it hard to remember how I screwed up.
