Default Building my engine

Alright, i ran across some extra cash after selling my car, I would like to spend less than 1000, but i dont know if i can, i found some rods and pistons for my engine, gsr, for 550 or so, what kind of sleeves would i need and what other misc stuff would i need. Curious if it can be done with good reliable parts to build your engine. On that kinda of budget

Tried searching for building engine, came back with one result

Well to be honest, if you plan on not spending more than a 1000, sleeves is not gonna be an option for you, if you do plan on buying the piston/rod combo like you stated. Sleeves are quite pricey and will put you over the top.

personally, i'd save a few more bucks and do it right the first time. Plan a goal then work on it. If you go half ***, you would probably end up spending more money in the long run...especially when it comes to labor. preperation is probably the toughest part and to determin what suits you best. stick w/ your game plan and save $$.

You're already $1000 there...give it time to save a few more $$.

Good luck!

Well i really wasnt sure on how much sleeves cost, at what power level would i need sleeves? I would be looking for around 300hp and ive been told you can boost 10psi on a stock gsr but i want to be safe, i have rc550, hondata, fuel pump ect. wouldnt be looking to boost over 10 psi at this moment, just really cuirous if i need sleeves. So i guess my question now is "How much horsepower can the stock sleeves take?"
