Default exhaust choices

I am in the market for an exhaust for my EG, and I want an exhaust that has a good angle on it. I had an Apexi N-1 on my other EG and it scraped the ground badly. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations of an exhaust that has a good angle, is not overly loud, and preferably something japanese, true japanese, T1R, Fujitsubo, something of that nature. Anyone running the Skunk2 mega power?

Any pictures and comments would be great.

Thanks.

Well the N1 probably scraped because your car was too low, or it was improperly installed. I have a full N1 exhaust and there is plenty of clearance, even after I dropped the car 1.75" in the front and 2" in the rear. Besides I think you're going to get the same bends in the same places with a Skunk2 exhaust. I'm not sure about the other ones, but I would imagine they're about the same. You're best best: find a good mechanic with a mandrel pipe bender; purchase a nice muffler, such as a Skunk2 or a Tanabe.

I have a Skunk2 Megapower cat-back on my EG hatch. It sounded good, but I'm gonna upgrade. I did have some clearence issues with the resonator sagging.

It was definately low to the ground. Right now it is 2.25 in the front and 2.50 in the rear, so I am sure that may cause issues. Hey hoffman, do you have a picture of your eg with the exhaust on it? I would like to see it. Also do you have a swap in it? I just got my hatch about a month ago, so I have not done a swap yet and I know some of these exhaust sound really raspy with a SOHC vtec motor in it.

I don't have a picture as of yet, but I can take one on my phone if you want. It's not angled at all. It does sound raspy now though because I recentally took out the mid-pipe and put in a straight pipe with no cat. I am swapped and VTEC sounds amazing.

If you could that would be cool. If it looks good enough, I may go with that one. A friend of mine can get it for me really cheap. I will wait to see it.

Can anyone that is running the Apexi N-1 tell me how low they are in the back? I would really like to go with this one.

i have a 95 coupe with the apex n1, the only real scraping problems ive had is with the first resonator scraping because its so big, im lowered 2" all the way around, i only scrape my rear section on drive ways and such.

93eg6,
I have a Apexi WS2 on my EG hatch. Very nice fitting. And, the sound note is great! I am planning to get some custom exhaust w/ my SC setup. You can take mine if you want. Almost brand new, used about 1 month. Asking $380.

Would I be incorrect in saying that the N1 axel back section dipped below the rear lower control arm??

I have a greddy evo, no angle, but perfect clearence of the bumper. Sound is awsome too! -- Sounds about as deep as you can get a D16, I suppose.

Anyhow, the greddy rear axel section routes above the rear LCA!

optionimport import has them for 471.20 with free shipping with the free shipping coupon on the front(home page) listed under the exhausts

That RS*R looks awesome. I will have to check into that. I like the way the world sport sounds, I just really don't like the stock muffler look. And thanks for posting that picture for me man, that definately helps out.

The GT2 looks great but, man,.... the clearance is poor to me. WS2 is much better. BTW, the WS2 axle back is over the LCA too.

Is there anyone else that has a picture of their exhaust on their car? Appearance is important to me as well. I want look and sound. It will be probably a year before I get to do the motor swap, so I need something that sounds good with that d series motor. Has anyone heard the new Tanabe Titanium exhaust?

I haven't had any problems with mine. Just don't lower your car onto the ground.
