Amuse s2000 or NSX
Just finished college and got a new job, and was thinking of a s2000 or NSX, If you had 35k to spend would you get a wide body amuse s2000 with bolt ons or stock NSX.

i would put 10k down on and 02 s2k
and the other 25 down on a house....
you can find a low mileage 02 for less than 23k easily......
start building equity, not your toy collection.....

I love it how people say they have a "Amuse" s2k or a Mugen s2k. The damn car is a Honda and Amuse does not own your car. Do what you want with your $ but i would go with what cmdr430 said
Invest it, either in a house or real estate. Don't blow it on parts and cars that lose their value. You seem to have a pretty good opportunity, take advantage of it. Hypnosis will tell you its the best money he ever spent.
If I had $35k to solely spend on a car, I would get a Z06. That wasn't an option you gave though, so NSX
BTW, don't buy a house unless you get a steal, or plan to live there a while. Appreciation past broker fees normally takes at least 3-5 years.

I have been telling myself to invest in foreclosed home or something in that nature, cause I always lose money everytime I get into cars, and I always regret it when I have sold the car and still paying on the loan. But I feel like I have worked hard and want to treat myself.
I also thought about taking the money and trying to get the PGA tour. But i would still like to see everyones opinion on what car they like.

Dont **** your money away man, you just got out of college and just got a good job, and you came into a nice chunk of money, dont blow it just because you feel the need to treat yourself to some of life's luxuries unless you just dont need that money for anything.
The idea to get a used S2000 and put the rest into a house is what i would stand by as well...$35,000 is going to get you what? A fairly used NSX or an S2000 with some modifications you didnt do yourself? Get yourself a nice condition AP1, get yourself a house and furnish up a little...then put the rest into an IRA.
Pay now play later works, but you gotta consistantly live your life like that...or you'll end up with a bunch of nice things...and no money to enjoy any of them truthfully.

Are you sure your clubs will fit in both those cars you chose?
I remember having to make my passenger hold my driver on the way to the range...

good luck, if you are that talented
either car would be my choice, but it will be easier to get financing on a 2002, than a 1992.....exotic or not.....

I live with my cousin that has a two story house with a two car garage, and we get along, so I really don't want to purchase a house. I am 22 and single so I don't really want a house of my own.
On joining the tour, I am scratch golfer that plays twice a month, now that I am finished with school I can play alot more and get better. So I think I have a good chance if I get out there and play.
For those that are older and wiser than me, what do you guys wish you could have done differently at my age, what kind of stuff would you invest in if you didn't have all those bills.

the only thing i would have done differently would have been not to abuse my credit card and accumulate 10k in debt on car mods....
it took a lot longer to pay off than it did to charge it up....
i still think you should consider some type of house or property.... realestate will always go up in value if chosen wisely.....

I dont think anyone claimed to be wiser than you...we were just making suggestions. At your age me and my wife were getting our stuff together to buy our house, being married and wanting to start a family up and stuff we thought it was the best plan...you being single, i can see your logic, but honestly, i still stand by the suggestion of getting some sort of house...people just dont understand how good of an investment they are until they get into one...not only for the equity benefits, but tax return benefits that are beyond belief...its better than Xmas when tax season comes around in my house...
As far as cars wise...you have 2 fun cars you are considering, but you also have alot of money that seems to be "very" disposible in your posession, where i would be careful is over doing the 'treating yourself' portion and get something you want and can have fun with, but dont put all your cash into one bucket...thats a mistake.
An NSX is a great car, but you'll be getting an older model with higher mileage most likely...to me it isnt a better buy, where as you can get a lower mileage AP1 for under $20,000, and still have a nice chunk of change to put away wisely or into a property.
These are just suggestions man, we're not trying to live your life for you...i got enough of my own to simply offer suggestion...

At 22, I had just bought a house with the military's help. Drove a beat up '94 Accord, dreaming about an S2000 until I had saved enough for one.
"Pay now, play later" works I guess. Now I have room for a salvaged track car.

All, I appreciate the input, I wasn't trying to be mean when I said "older and wiser"
I am just trying to get input from those who are older than me, becasue it seems like everyone I talk to is like "I would be rich if I knew what I know at your age"
From what everyone has said here a s2000 for 20K is the best choice. So I just need to be displine enough not to blow my money in toys but to invest in something.

****...theres nothing i know now that i would change about what i did in the past...people that regret things they've done just didnt use those things as learning experiences. Me and my wife had some debt, but not a whole lot...whiped that all out the first tax season after we had our house...we then got her car for her, and enjoyed it for a year (before it was unfortunately totalled last monday)...now we're thinking family and future...gonna go with something a little more useful because we live right on a lake...gonna get a boat or a couple of jet ski's (havent picked which yet).
I guess the main thing is...just dont go ape **** with your money becuase you have alot of it in a short period of time. Money will blow itself fast enough without you trying to...get yourself a nice AP1, enjoy it, maybe put some rims and bolt ons onto it...new suspension or something, i can promise you, $20,000 is enough to have a nice S2000 that looks great and drives great...and leaves you with some investment cash just like you said.
At 22, you're in a good boat if you can have some self control.

graduates generally make less than 60,000 right out of college, unless you are one of the few that graduate with those certain majors that easily allow you to make 100,000 starting off. in order for you to make 100,000 you're going to be looking at law school or pharmacy school. i doubt ur anything where close to a 6 figure salary, so i will say the samething the rest of the people said. save up for a house.
oh yeah, it's not the brightest thing to drive a widebodied s2k as your daily driver.

The more boring but responsible advice would be to invest in a nice house and drive something else.
The more fun response would be to get the NSX. Amuse S2000, as pretty as it looks
, seems rather pointless unless you turbocharge the car and track it. The kit will not survive street driving.

Not sure if you care or not about the front fascia but an 02+ headlight conversion on an nsx isn't the hardest thing in the world so that might turn your 91-92 nsx into something a lil more recent looking if that's the only thing that deters you from buying one. The S2k would be my choice though but i'm a lil biased towards newer cars.
