Default Question about buying wrecked bikes...

so my friend who was going to sell me his '03 ninja 636 for $5000 wrecked his bike before i could give him the money for it. he's still going to sell it to me, but for a cheaper price obviously (like in the neighborhood of $4000-4300 w/ clean title still)

my question is, what kinds of things should i look out for when purchasing a bike that has been wrecked?

brackets and stays being bent out of place is a concern of mine. frame, forks, swing arms, and etc. appear to be in good condition still. he says the bike still rides fine and i plan on test riding it too myself. but basically all the plastics need to be replaced. i took a look at the bike myself after the wreck and it didn't look as bad for how he said he wrecked it.

take it to a local shop and have em inspect it - better safe than sorry - fairings will run you a lot of money to replace.
