Sounds like what your looking for is a motion sensor. DEI part # 508D. It has adjustable fields the 1st field sets off couple warning chirps can set this so is some gets close it will warn away. Second zone is the full alarm trigger zone. wich you would set inside the car only so if you left you window open an some on reached in the window it would fully trigger the alarm. This sensor will replace your shock sensor or you can use them both. One bit of advice mount the box some where accessable because you will need to make adjustments to the field sensitivity levels. Also when you adjusting the unit be sure to do it outside it seems as though florescent lighting screws up the adjustment. You may also want to think about getting a two paging alram system in conjuction so you know when you alarm has been activated.

Default Re: ALARM SENSATIVE AS....... (SOHC1.6LV-TEC)

I understand how pissed you must be, that said, I have been an installer for over 30 years and I have yet to find a way to keep aholes from "keying" a car, what MLD211 suggests, [a dual stage radar/proximity sensor] is about as good as it gets, however, in my experience, it does little to stop "keying" not to say that a dual stage prox. sensor is not a good "layer" to add to any alarm.
One problem you will want to avoid is an alarm that has sensors that are set to high, an alarm that is forever going off is no help, it just irritates people and drains your batt. 94
