I have an 88 civic std with a d16a6. The clutch has just started to give me problems.
It sometimes works perfectly but other times it doesn't shift at all. I push the clutch to the floor and back and it won't let me into first . It still shifts when the car is off, that is how I got it home a couple of times. Can I get some help here please?

 

Try adjusting the clutch cable and doing a transmission fluid change

 

I hope that will be it, and by adjusting the cable does that mean that I need tighten right where thw tranny is

 

Tighten the nut on there, this will pull up on the trans arm

 

Maybe you need a new clutch but ya try tightening the cable first
