Default could use a little advice...

im getting ready to start shopping around for a swap for my 89 crx si, but cant quite decide what i want to drop in... i know id rather not do a b series cause every1 in south fl has a ****** b series. i was thinking about either a k20 type r or a b20 but cant choose.. ive had quite a few civic owners throw their opinions at me but id like to see what other crx drivers think... personally i feel yall would have a little more insite considering u drive the same car.. thanks for the help

"Everyone has B-series for reason. Not as expensive as an H- or K- swap. Pretty powerful and no where near as expensive.

Did you just say "i know id rather not do a b series", but then you went ahead and said "i was thinking about...a b20"

I just found that funny. Fyi: B20 = B series engine.

Well if you do not want to build a B series engine, why not build a DOHC ZC? Its not a B-series and great for boost and a **** load cheaper than a k20.

I am in the same problem. I was debating a DOHC ZC, but then i read that the B20 has better potential. I have settled on a B20 w/ a T60 turbo. What are you switching from?

If you want uniqueness and speed, you could go for a F20C or K24.. The K20 will cost you a lot of money (along with F20 or K24) and will be really unique and really fast. I would have done it but i dont have the money

im not rich by a long shot im doing the swap myself so im saving up paycheck to paycheck, but im really passionate bout this project so i dont care how much it costs me or how long it takes... right now the car has a d16 soh non vetch, nothing special but anyonw with a crx knows that theyre a lil faster than ppl tend to think... i have exhaust, intake and shortshifter right now for mods, nothing great... i know that which ever i choose i wanna run boost.....

Well I am quite confused. At one point money is an issue "not rich by a long shot" and then money isn't an issue. Unfortunately passion cannot power a Honda.

And if your not doing a B-series cause everyone has one, then don't have sex because everyone does that too!

If you want to get a cheap swap then I would look at a B18A/B, B20 then B16, B18 GSR/ITR (Oh BTW not many people have ITR motor "uniqueness") then H22, K20 and then if you want Uber unique get a Dart block and head and go from there or just get the beast. Then you will be super unique and super scared to leave your car anywhere if fear of theives. I'm just saying do under estimate "common swaps". Eventually your swap will only be "unique" for a little while and then you can say things like "I was the first in my area to have it" or "I did it when no one else did" or neat things like that.

And B18 A/B are pretty well setup for being a boosted motor if you were to boost a B20 I would get it sleeved...not saying you have to cause everyone has there own opinion but it would be do it just so you don't risk cracking a stock sleeves.

And the underlined/italic words were hyperlinked by me not the gay google thing.
