gutting catalytic converter ?
A little......maybe
But it makes the exhaust note sound like ****. I did it when I had a zc in my car and it sounded so bad that i went and purchased a hi flow cat just to tame the sound. I would suggest either getting a high flow cat or just leaving it alone.

when i hollowed out the cat on my crx it gave it more of a low tone and i really didn't notice any hp gain. if your car has power, you may notice a difference, otherwise don't waste your time gutting it out.
You would actually lose a little pwer by "gutting" your cat. Once all of the material inside the cat is removed it becomes a hollow chamber that will back up exauhst gasses, and let heat escape more rapidly, slowing the flow to the rear of the car. Your best bet would be to make a test pipe to use for track use, and keep your cat on on the street. On Honda's there's not a whole lot of power to be made at the cat, about 2-6 on an average tuned honda.
