H&R Sports - 99 Civic Si fit 96 Civic EX?
I found some H&R Sports on Ebay for 50.00 brand new (they look used IMO though) but anyway they are part # 51865-2 (99-00 Civic SI) and the springs that my 96 CIvic EX would use are part # 51865.
Does anyone know if these will fit and what the difference is between the two??
Thanks!

Here is the auction:

I notice that the spring says it 51865, shouldn't it say 51865-2??
Also, if this spring lowers the si the same as the 51865 lowers my EX, wouldn't that mean that my car will actually be lowered an additional amount (the difference in height between my EX and an SI)??
if that makes any sense...
One more! How much lower is the SI than the EX??
Thanks!!

Both are the "Sport" spring, with approximate lowering of 1.75F/1.5R. The stock Si springs have higher spring rates than the EX, so maybe that's how they differ here; the EX "Sport" spring is lower than the Si "Sport" spring.
If you look at the ebay picture, the springs are stamped 51865 F and 51865 R - there is no mention of the Si's 51865-2 model number. I assume they are the same spring, with H&R using the "-2" for recording their sales.
Either way, the springs will fit, and provide lowered stance and better handling. Even if the Si "Sport" spring is a little stiffer than the EX one, it will only add performance while sacrificing comfort minimally.

thanks for all the info guys... ONE MORE THING... what about the extra weight of the B16, I just thought about this. Maybe it will be less of a drop in the front sense these springs are designed for a car with a heavier motor...
Edit: Just did a little research... Eibach sportlines/pro-kit are the same part numbers for EX and Si, only difference is that it lowers more in the back for the EX (like .2 inches)
Probably doesn't matter for weight of the motor then...

I prefer the H&R springs (over Eibach) with their larger drop in the front because it makes the coupes look more balanced. The Eibachs which make the rear look lower than the front (due to the rear fender height) IMO.
Just make sure the 1.75 / 1.5 drop is one you're looking for. I prefer the Race springs, which have a 2"+ drop. Check out some customer rides or the appearance forum for examples of both.
Good luck

I've already decided on the H&R's, I was just using the Eibach springs as an example of the part numbers being the same for the SI and the EX.
I don't like that "saggy butt" look either

I put some Integra sportline springs on my civic EX (SOHC)...look what happened (this was 2 years ago...my kaA was rice back then
).
).
Man that sucks
I just called King Motor Sports and they said that the SI springs wouldn't lower the front of my EX due to the springs designed for the weight of the B16... looks like I won't be getting these springs afterall...
