Fuel Pump replacement in a 85 CRX...difficult?
So a lady friend from work needs her fuel pump replaced...and of course she calls upon me "being in school to become a mechanic" yet i havent had any courses other than suspension and brakes. So my question is...can this task at hand be accomplished by a semi-noob such as myself. A few questions...
Where is the fuel pump located?
(do i have to drop the tank?)
Is it just plug n play...?
Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You might check cause some Hondas earlier then 87 had inline fuel pumps and you dont have to drop the tank. Its an easy job if your mechanically inclined at all....

Yeah so it ended up being an inline external fuel pump located on the actual engine block. Replaced the fuel pump, cranked it...and still nothing. I have no experience with engines yet so i was basically no help. The thing is, fuel is getting to the pump(took the line off after we tried turning it over and fuel was spewing out) but no fuel is getting pumped from the pump to the carberator (I took the whole fuel pump off and noticed no fuel had even circulated through the pump after cranking). So this led me to believe the cam assembly controlling the pump (this is a mechanical fuel pump) could be damaged. I really dont know and i really wish i was in my engine performance class at school right now because im dying to figure out what the problem is. So...with all that said im just happy i installed the fuel pump...working or not. Any suggestions would be great.
