HAVE YOU EVER INSTALLED A CLUTCH THAT HAD A GAP LIKE THIS???(YEAH I SEARCHED)
alright guys, i pieced a stock clutch setup together going into a b18b, with a s1 cable tranny. i got a 90-91 clutch disc, itr pressure plate, and a p30 flywheel. now my question is, is it supposed to have a gap like this??

i thought that the pressure plate is supposed to be bolted down to the flywheel without any gaps. have any of you installed a clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate with a gap and din't have any problems?

it shoudnt be like that at all..try to take them out and rotate that pressure plate because it has to be perfectly flat and all the way down...Those bolts will align whichever way u put the pressure place but look at those small metal piece that should be flat with pressure plate...ive install a lot of clutches already and the bottom line is, it should be flat
that is normal. once you tighten the bolts down it compresses the pressure plate against the disk........thats how the clutch works......
BTW that pressure plate looks like ***.......its so rusty......was it sitting out in a junk yard or something?
with the cost of a new Exedy stage 1 why would you want a used junk that could possibly be bad.....

those metal dowel pins should be sliding into the hole in the pressure plate..
torque the bolts down. then that moves the fingers on the clutch, and compresses the pressure plate onto the clutch disk..

thanks for the reply guys. yeah it hasn't been torqued down. just got a little worried that i bought the wrong disc or something.

the pressure plate is just rusted from sitting in my trunk . it came out of my jdm itr swap that had like 25k miles. don't really wanna spend that much on a new clutch set, because the car is just going to be a beater for work
