best hard top out there... however it's not insulated/lined like the oem one.... so it'll be louder then the oem top

because it extends back farther than the OEM hardtop, you cant open the trunk all the way.
However, it isnt a big deal and quality, and looks is 10 times better.

I've seen quite a few Mugen HTs and I've never seen one that fit as good as OEM. Also, be aware that the CF top was not designed for a street car so you'll see some overlap in the carbon and things like that. If you can swallow the little imperfections it's probably the best $6000 hardtop option

Imperfection? I don't think I've seen any overlapping weaves on a genuine Mugen HT. And fit? Seems to me you're talking about the knock-off.

I've never seen a knock-off in person. I've seen several genuine Mugen HTs and none of them fit *perfectly* around the C-pillar area. There is always a little gap here and there, but nothing too serious.

Do you know of anyone with a genuine CF Mugen top? If you do, go check it out. I bet you'll see the fabric overlapping in more than one place.

I've seen two in person, none bearing the imperfections you described. I have seen crushed weaves on a Seibon though.

Yeah, Seibon is crap. No doubt about it. But I bet if you went back and took a closer look at the two CF Mugens you've seen you'd catch the overlap I'm talking about. It isn't so much an "imperfection" as a "mark of character" , but it's there. Mugen doesn't pretend to make a show-quality CF top.

"Mark of character", hahaha thats pretty good. Maybe I just have to look closer, but I swear my nose almost touches those things when I stare.

they are nice, although I would not pay the high $ to get one. There are lots more things for 6k that I want more.

The fitment issues could be the installation, not the fitment of the actual product. Mugen wouldn't put out a product that didn't fit like oem.

I'm still here....I don't really get involved with stuff like this on H-T anymore. It's not worth my time.

I know that the Mugen tops fit good...even better than the OEM top. I used to be all about helping, suggesting, etc. the S2000 owners group, but not anymore. It seems to me there are more a$$-hats owners nowadays than ever before.

If someone wants to trash the idea or opinions of someone else's about what Mugen quality is or the customer service that comes from King, my new stance is, "let them".

I got mine, and at this point, that's what really matters to me.

For all the Mugen stuff on my S2K and the quality of it all, it makes me wish that they made stuff for BMW. I'm happy that my beater is an Integra though....my *****-ness will grow further.

BTW, anyone up for a 360?

someone said you have to move the bump stops on the trunk around to make it all work out

WRONG!!! With both my Mugen hardtops, I was able to open my trunk all the way. Either the hardtop, the mounting brackets, or both need more adjustment.

The trunk shouldn't need any adjustment outward, or limit its travel.
