i have the sportecs, but don't know too much about the racetecs. are they any good?

The Sportec M1s are decent enough tires, but don't last long in terms of tire wear and grip well when warmed up. And then they get really greasy soon after. They're good street tires and average track tires.

The Racetec tires are the next evolution of the Rennsports that Metzeler was been promoting as their DOT race tire. I haven't had experience with the Rennsports, but they were supposed to be the same as the Pirelli SuperCorsa with the exception of tread pattern.

 

can you ride the racetec on regular street or its for track use only?

Sure you can but they will take a long time to heat up and wear fast.

So true. Your money would be better spent on Diablos or Pilot Powers.
