Default Wheel repair: Polished lip

Hey guys I was wondering if any of y'all have any experience in having a rim with a polished lip repaired. The wheel is sound but the lip has minor curb damage and scratches that I'd like to have removed. Is this possible? Or is it more expensive then its worth?? Thanks

+++I searched and although there are plenty of wheel repair threads, none deal with a fixing a polished lip +++

well first u gotta use some kind of chemical to remove the original clearcoat. keep in mind that it is hard to replicate the factory clear coats.

then u go to town with a combination of different aluminum polishes. by hand or machine.

also, they are gonna need to be re-cleared . otherwise they will get dull.

i believe h-t user opi has a write up.
