heat problem

Default heat problem

as i was turning the **** from cold to heat, it felt like it was stuck on something so i gave it a little more "umph" and then i heard something snap. NOW, my heat doesnt work. any ideas on what i did?

prolly broke your switch itself.......pullout your console and unplug the plug that you broke...go to the junkyard or dealer and get a new one...on some models the price from the dealer might b expensive since the heat **** is on the same platform with all the other switches( like your A/C, fan etc) Junk yard is your best bet

If your lucky it just the heater control **** that broke those are fairly cheap brand new from the dealership it is like 11 bucks

it could also be the knobulator spring that came off.......

Turn the **** over, stick a small screwdriver in the shaft hole and pry on it just to see if you have a crack in it. I've broken a couple of them before I learned. Don't put too much pressure on the ****, turn it about halfway or until you feel tension, then let it sit for a couple of seconds, it will loosen up, then you can turn it the rest of the way. That or try to lube the cable so it will slide easier or get a new cable. I think turning it with a gentle touch is easier than changing the cable or trying to lube it up.

so i messed around with the cable and the heat now works. BUT, i have a new question now...
how do i get to where i can get cold air and heat blowing at the same time so i dont have to keep messing with the cable? (like a default position)
