Default Yay for my bike

So i was out in my parents garage checking some things out on the CBR, and i decide to put in the key and i hear my dad say "why is your taillight on?" and i was like "wtf?" So i tried to start it, and nothing happened. So the next day, today, i get the headlight assembly and hook it up (it has a big harness on it), and the headlights worked (at least the one that wasn't smashed to ****), and then i hooked up the instrument gauge, and it worked (although the oil sign is on, which is weird cause i didn't lose oil).

then i try and start it. nope. so i make sure it's in neutral. doesn't start. i make sure the kill is off. doesn't start.

i pick the bike up and take it off the kickstand (hey it's been a while lol), and try to start it, and it cranked!!! not alot, but it did. The battery is just dead, and the rectifier/regulator was having problems before this.

so this made me pretty happy. I'm guessing it will take about $700 to fix, to be in a drivable form, not fixing the fairings, just getting headlights, the entire front end and rear sets.

if i didn't have to pay $535/month for car insurance, it would be fixed in no time.

oh, the horn worked too, i wasnt expecting it and neither was my dad, scared the **** out of us in the garage.

anyways ... this just made my day.

So I guess it won't be totalled...?

Good luck getting her back up-and-running.

i really dont know what will happen to it, to be honest.

because of the lawsuit, and them potentially paying for the bike, i'm sure it's not the wisest idea to start fixing it up.

i doubt it would be totalled though, i need to get the frame checked out still, but it looks fine. Everything looks to be in life, no impact marks, abrasions, creases, dents, scratches, etc.

I'm going out right now to hook up the battery to see if it will turn over and actually start.

bah. well i hooked it up to my car, and tried to start it. It's got plenty of gas, it has oil, and the starter is STRONG, but it won't start.

I'm sure at this point it could be a million things, but i can seem to think of what it would be.

You probably alrleady know but if you use your car battery to jump, make sure your car is not running.
Good luck.

woops. my car WAS running lol.

why is it bad?

on another note .. i pulled out my gear and all that from my accident, and wow .. it hit me like a ton of bricks. Just seeing the bloodstains, and the mauled leather, and looking at my shoes and remember tying them in anticipation for a fun day of riding. My gear is all cut up, and just made me think of laying there on the concrete .. i can't imagine what i must have looked like.

blehhahdl .. . ride safe everyone
