i just weighed my EK hatch today at 2460pounds w/o driver . is that normal?

-a/c p/s removed
-full size spare with jack(no oem) and tools
-no driver side airbag
-full interior -Ls seats
-full tank of gas
-swapped motor


---im keeping my full interior

That seems really light for an EK. Do you have full interior, or is it gutted??

 

Mine was 2380. Full interior w/ 1/2 tank gas.

Are the 96-98's lighter than the 99-00's? Always wondered how much mine weighed

 

damn i thoguht they were a lil heavier then that.. not bad... you still can strip some more off...

like bumper support, plastic panels, rug, door panels, speakers, dash... it could get close to 2100....

 

my 00 dx with full interior weighs 2400 . I had it corner weighted and total car weighed

 

i gotta lose 60

 

Thats not bad man... I'm sure mine is a little piggy though...

 

I think the only reason why people think the 96-98's are lighter is because alot more cx's where sold in this year which didn't come with rims, cd player, p/s, a/c or passenger side airbag.

Shiiiit..My 97 ek coupe ex with full interior, spare and jack, system(box prolly weighs around 50lbs or more), full tank of gas and me in it was 2710...Friggin fat body..

 

Where did you get it weighed; one of those truck weigh stations?

my dx is ITR swapped with no power steering conversion no washer system no ac carbon hood, and my wheels are spoon so that has to save a ton of weight total. I autoxed it for the second time yesterday and it feels so nimble and light

Did you remove it because the CX comes stock with 2 airbags.

 

My EX coupe weighed 2495 completely stock with the spare / tools removed and about 1/4 tank of gas. This was on calibrated longacre racing scales for corner balancing. Sounds like the scale may be off, because you should be lighter.
