I assumed your tank was prolly the same as mine, but I looked it up anyway and I saw a place selling 12 gallon tanks for both your 89 lx and my 91 crx, so I figure that means your tank is also technically 11.9 gallons. On empty mine fills up to 8.5 gallons though.

I think most CRXs are 11.9 gallons (my '88 Si and '89 DX are). I want to say only HFs have a smaller gas tank. 10.4 gallons I think. Does anyone concur?

Also gas stations will sometimes mess with their pumps to get more money out of you.

For example filling up a 6 gallon gas can at a local gas station turned out to take 6.7 gallons to fill it up...doesent sound right now does it? Damn gas stations.

Well you have to look at it like this... Your gas tank's capacity is lets say 10 gallons, ok. well the tube running up to the gas tank hold gas too if you top it off. So if you top your car off, your filling up your gas tank and the capacity of the tube.

Always fill up early in the morning and you will get more gas for your money. Overnight it cools and compresses. In the heat/day it gets hot and expands. Just some random info.
