Default CRANK removal h22a prelude 1999

hi,

i need to take out my crank: does the oil pump need to be removed to do this?

if so...

do you have to remove the balance shafts to remove the oil pump on a H22A

i did a search but couldn't get a answer.

i got as far last nite removing everything else like theCam belt etc gearbox/ flywheel, oil pan/pick-up/baffle but i just wanted to check about the oil pump, i just wanted to check with someone, (i've ordered a helms manual but i'm waiting for it to be shipped), cos' was reallly hoping to carry on. just need a quick yes/no thanx

No and no.

Pull the bottom off the motor, remove the side plates, and the crank will drop out after being unbolted from the saddles.

The oil pump will come out without taking out the balance shafts.
