Default What Motor is the best go with?

Im tryin to build an all motor build but everytime i get set to do it, i hear more info. I heard that the H-series is a good swap for an EG, do a h23/22 vtec and run some great numbers.

Really what my question is, I have a b18c1 it runs great but i can get more power out of it still , all i got is 176whp , can do cams and new pistons and so forth, however i was thinkin if the H-series is such a great motor why not do that?

Really my question is what motor would be a good jump off for. The car is not just going in a straight line , Its my daily driver and does circuit track stuff, so its not just a drag car i need it to be able to perform everything. Any help would be great thx

ive heard bad stories about h22/23 frankensteins but id stick with the gsr motor and build you can search and see what people have put down with gsr motors maybe add a b20 bottom end with better rods and higher com pistons pnp the head with stg2 or 3 cmas edelbrock manifold or skunk2 or aebd or u can go itbs it all depends on hoe much money ypu got if you go b20 spend the exra money to sleeve it get a good header and a good tune u can llok at from 180whp to 250whp depends on your budget

Yeah well with a b20 bottom end i would just end up sleevin it, so i may as well just bore and stroke my b18?? Or would it be better just to start off with a b20 and sleeve it and everything?

Yeah ITBs is a later add on, rightnow i got a skunk2 intake manifold and that will do the trick. I have yet to hear a ITB up close so until then i will reserve my thoughts on it, i dont wanna get it and hate it for my everyday drive

there is more aftermarket parts support for the b-series, plus the b-series is an overall stronger motor than the h-series. i dont know who told you different but they dont know their ****. just cuz its bigger doesnt mean its better.

Keep working with your b18c.The b20 is just a cheap way to get displacement.Sleeve (oversize) and stroke the b18c and you will have a good all around engine.
