Alpine CDE-9845 Head Unit Installed / Subwoofers not working. Please Help.
I just got an Alpine CDE-9845 Head Unit and the subwoofers are not working. I have checked the fuse on my amp, the fuse in the battery wire, my rca cables are plugged in to their appropriate jacks and still the subs refuse to thump. They worked just fine earlier today before I swapped out the head units. All of my speakers are presenting excellent sound and I am absolutely dumbfounded that I cannot get any response out of the subs. Anyone, please, if you have any suggestions let me know.
P.S.
Whoever had my car before me cut the plug off of the factory wiring harness.
If you ever catch someone cutting the plug off of the factory wiring harness in a car, beat them within an inch of their life and then go get a woman to nag them and explain to them why they just got beaten.

Are you plugged into the rear RCAs? Did you switch the rear output to S/W in,["setup"] ? Have you turned up the sub volume in, ["sound customizing"]?
And as UofLeaderb18 asked what is the amps trigger lead wired to, the Alpines blue or blue/white, do you get sub bass if the radio is on but not when playing the CD?

The CDE-9845 has a subwoofer preout, make sure its plugged in and make sure your subwoofer is set to "on" on the setup. Though your subs could have come disconnected somewhere or they could be blown which is doubtful. THere is always the chance that you have a bad head unit. I see a bad one atleast once every few days.

No, the 9845 does have a subwoofer and front preout. The CDE-9841, CDE-9843, CDE-9854, CDA-9847, etc all have sub preouts, labeled on the back of the chassis.
Man I figured out the problem. The first reply hit the nail on the head. I had my remote wire wired to the power antenna instead. Once I swapped that wire to its respective place, I ran into another problem. This one took me about 3 hours to find and about 3 minutes to fix. Under the hood whenever I went to check the fuse on the battery wire again, I grounded out the wire and consequently blew a fuse in the fuse box labeled "BACK UP". Once I swapped in a new fuse the subs kicked on and the cd player sounds better than the Clarion that I had in it previously. Thanks for all of the help guys.

On page 22, [connections] it shows one set of preamp outputs for the 41 and 43 that can be front or sub output, [switchable] and a second set of outputs for the 45 ONLY they are front outputs and the other set are rear or sub out, [switchable] it is not a dedicated sub output.
The CDA-9847 has 3 preamp outputs front/rear and sub along with the rest of the CDA-98** series, except the CDA-9820XM that is like the CDE-9845, it has 2 sets of pre outs with the rear set being switchable to sub out.
There are only 3 CDE-98** series units the 41/43 and 45 there is no CDE-9854 or CDA-9854, could not find one anywhere at Alpine Tech Support.
