won't stay on!
after getting my car started with starting fluid, it wouldn't stay on. even with me holding down the gas pedals, it just shuts off. and it would only start with starting fluid. anyone know what's wrong?
p.s. - main relay's new, fuel pump's working. all fuse's are working. is it my injector resistor?

If in fact you do have a running fuel pump and the car does start as you say with starting fluid then more than likely you don't have a signal to your injectors.
First I would make sure you have good fuel pressure at the injector rail. Then I would put a stethoscope on an injector while someone cranks the engine and listen for clicking from your injectors.
and make sure your check engine light comes on and goes off and your fuel pump runs during this cycle when you first turn your key to the "on" position

my motor is a d16y7, but just the motor. everything else is original crx si, wiring and everything. how do you check the fuel pressure at the injector rail? does the injector resistor have something to do with my injectors not working?

If your resistor isn't needed, as in if you have OBD1 injectors with a resistor wired in then you would have the problem you descibe.
2 fixes, first take the resistor out of line and wire them straight thru or put in pre-OBD injectors and leave the resistor in place

the motor used to be running with whatever's on the car. is it possible the resistor box just went bad? i think i have the d16a6 resistor box on the d16y7, because the person that sold me the car didn't do a good job and kept everything d16a6 but the motor.
Resistor boxes don't usually go bad, start over and check the basics first and then let us know what you find. Get a fuel pressure tester and check your fuel pressure first, I think that's your problem, but start with the basics and think about the difficult things later. Fuel Spark Compression
