You could by a speaker harness connector, they make them for Honda's, they are like 7.99 a pair at Circuit City. Basically it takes like 30 seconds to hook up the speakers, because the adapter is just like the factory plug in there.

If you do have tweeters in the car and plan upgrading to a component system a speaker harness will do you no good, because you are gonna have to wire up the crossover anyway.

With your civic you can just replace the woofer in the door and still maintain the factory tweeters, just buy the speaker harness and un hook the one off of the woofer. But if your hell bent on determining which one is the appropriate color you can pop the speaker by throwin a few volts through it to make the cone actually pop outward or suck inward. Hook up some speaker wire to a batter, one to the negative side and one to the possitive then touch the other ends to the speaker terminals. If it pops outward, the speaker is in phase meaning you found the correct + and -. If it sucks inward its out of phase so reverse it.

Wiring one side pos. to pos. and neg. to neg and the other side pos. to neg. and neg. to pos., that would be out of phase doing the same thing to two subs running off one channel would also be out of phase. 94

If not test the way lude-behavior recommends, it will tell you which term. is pos. and in so doing what wire is pos. or you can just pick one side on the plug and do the same on all the speakers, it makes no diff. as long as they are all the same 94
